Texas Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology (BEST) : annual competition in which local middle/high school students team up with local businesses to build a remote controlled robot to FIRST: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology : sponsors annual robot competitions to generate an interest in science and engineering among today's youth. MechWars: competitions between custom built, radio controlled robots of up to 375lbs. Top Cath: fan site for the muscian and co-host and producer of Junkyard Wars, Cathy Rogers. Western Canadian Robot Games: held at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. Events include sumo wrestling, atomic hockey, and the Extinguisher. Team CajunBot: home of the six-wheeled robotic vehicle and DARPA entry from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Rover Systems: designing, building, and programming the C1V1 Rover, an autonomous ground vehicle designed for the DARPA Grand Challenge. Virginia Tech's DARPA Grand Challenge Team: follows the team as they convert a Club Car XRT 1500 into an unmanned ground vehicle for the Grand Challenge. Team CIMAR: responsible for transforming a forgotten 1993 Isuzu Trooper into the NaviGATOR, a state-of-the-art unmanned ground vehicle built to compete in Palos Verdes Road Warriors (PVRW): DARPA Grand Challenge team comprised of students from Palos Verdes High School, Los Angeles, California.
