The Challenger wood grinder was developed in 1992, in order to offer to the market a size reduction technology, which works under heaviest conditions efficiently and reliably. The machine should be also characterised by small current consumption and low maintenance costs. The mechanic of the woodgrinder should withstand continuous 24/7-operation. Special attention was put on the cutting system. The new developed cutting rotor for the Challenger carried out up to 3-5 time more than all well-known systems. For a aggressive size reduction system like this a conventional frame was not sufficient. The frame was designed very substantial. All parts were used in very heavy design.
