Professor receives mechanical engineering award

Kyung K. Choi, the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Iowa, received the Design Division Award by American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). This prestigious award is the highest award given by the ASME Design Automation Committee.
Choi earned a bachelor?s degree from Yonsei University, Korea, and received a master?s degree and doctorate from the University of Iowa. His research interests include reliability-based design optimization, possibility-based design optimization and robust design optimization of scale mechanical systems. He is also involved in the reduction of high frequency noise in motor vehicles and other optimizations based on motor vehicle systems.
He is a founding member of the UI Center for Computer Aided Design (CCAD) and is a Fellow of ASME.
