A mechanical problem caused the Watseka Swimming Pool to be closed for a short time this week.

However, with warm weather today the pool is expected to be open Friday.
"We had a bad drain hole," Watseka Park District Executive Director Sherry Johnson said Wednesday evening. "We got that fixed and the pool is refilling the water that was lost in it. We probably will not be open tomorrow, merely for the fact that the water will be too cold from the refill, but if we have a good day tomorrow, we should be open on Friday with no problems at all."

Johnson said the Watseka Swim Team was to have practiced Wednesday for its Saturday meet, but could not do so because of the mechanical problem.
