Job Description
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Work with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to create and modify part and assembly models in 3D and generate and modify 2D drawing based on these models.
- Work with the lead engineer/designer to understand the scope of work, schedule, and project needs to determine intent and content of each drawing.
- Model, layout and package electromechanical components and associated plumbing from a P&ID to assist in the build of laboratory test equipment.
- Complete drawing tasks within scope and schedule.
- Review drawings for layout, completeness, accuracy, constructability and adherence to internal design/drafting standards.
- Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of internal design/drafting standards.
- Maintain structured bills of material and parts lists for assemblies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of drafting room procedures such as retrieving and applying information from design/drafting standards, preparation of purchasing and manufacturing specifications and release of revised drawings into the company vault.
- Utilize SolidWorks 2005 to prepare models, drawings and layouts.

Educational Background :
2 years technical school in design / drafting or associate degree in mechanical engineering.
