Fall Car Care Safety Reminder from Wiper Industry Experts at Pylon Mfr
19th November, 2008
The change of seasons signals that varying degrees of weather and ambient light conditions are ahead. Therefore, the wiper industry experts at Pylon Manufacturing, the exclusive licensee of Michelin wiper products, are reminding motorists and visitors to the Automotive Aftermarket Expo (AAPEX) show in Las Vegas Nov. 4-6 how to dramatically improve driving safety and vision before the weather turns inclement by changing wiper blades.
Michelin's expertise creating rubber compounds that grip the road surface have inspired a full line of wiper blades, including the Michelin RainForce(TM) design recently rated by a national consumer publication as a best buy and available exclusively at Wal-Mart as Michelin High Performance(TM). Designed to provide easy installation and exceptional value, key features include a compression-molded natural rubber blade with graphite, a heavy-duty all-metal frame and pre-installed connector. The Pylon Manufacturing exhibit at AAPEX (Booth #4038) will feature the complete range of Michelin wiper blade products, including the latest technology frameless or "beam" blade.
Dave Frauman, Pylon's director of engineering, sees the AAPEX show as an excellent opportunity to educate show-goers about the safety implications of exceeding the recommended six-month replacement window and the unnecessary risks associated with operating a vehicle with worn, torn or inefficient blades which leave streaks, a film and an inconsistent view of the road that can limit vision or delay judgment.
"Many drivers are unaware of the impact prolonged exposure to the sun, repeated trips to the car wash and debris from the road surface can have on wiper blade performance," said Frauman. "Heading into the change of seasons with poor or inoperative blades can leave a motorist stranded -- possibly at the worst time and place. If left unchanged, they can also result in permanent and costly damage to your car's windshield from scratching. Changing a set of wiper blades takes so little time yet it offers huge safety dividends, and when you consider there are blade designs at price ranges to suit every budget and vehicle, there is no reason not to."
